Shakhtar Social Foundation’s Come On, Let's Play! project operates in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions

Trainings sessions are held in eight towns and cities: Halych, Bovshiv, Burshtyn, Zadnistryanske, Chervonohrad, Kamyanka-Buz’ka, Demyaniv, and Lviv. It is worth noting that only the sites with a shelter in the immediate vicinity are currently open.

Football sessions are attended by both permanent project participants and displaced children from Mariupol, Kurakhove, Kyiv and the Kyiv Oblast.

Inna Khmyzova, Shakhtar Social Director:

“Children are always children, even during the war. We want to make the guys’ lives better at this difficult time, so we decided to continue training where it’s possible. Presently, the sessions are held in eight residential areas in the west of Ukraine. Local guys train here and a lot of children who were forced to leave their hometowns because of the war. The sessions are held only at the sites located as close as possible to the shelters. Our coaches know what to do in case of air raid alerts.”

Olena Semych, DTEK’s HR, Social Development and Environment Director:

“Thanks to the Сome On, Let's Play! project, children can continue living peaceful lives and playing football for free. DTEK is genuinely proud of its partnership with Shakhtar Social, and it's a great honour for us to be a partner of this kind of social project. Team spirit, fair play, respect for the rules and other participants, team spirit and discipline – these are the values DTEK fully supports. The small victories of our children on football fields inspire all of us to claim major victories on the energy front.”

The Come On, Let’s Play! has been implemented with the support of DTEK for four years now. Currently, trainings are being held in eight cities and towns out of 43 where the project operated before the war.

It should be noted that about UAH 1.4 billion has already been donated by SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and the Shakhtar football club to help Ukraine and Ukrainians just during the first 40 days of the war.
