Shakhtar Global Tour: Domzale 0-3 Shakhtar

Meeting took place at the opponent’s stadium as a part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace in Ukraine. Proceeds from the sale of tickets and advertising will be used to purchase everything necessary for the defenders of Ukraine and civilians, who needs help.

Shakhtar players again came on wearing shirts featuring logos of new humanitarian project, Pitch In For Ukraine, implemented in partnership with UNITED24 platform.

It was the second friendly for the Miners today: they win the friendly against the team from Saudi Arabia Al-Adalah (1-0) earlier. As expected, Igor Jovicevic completely changed the starting lineup. Anatolii Trubin played in goal; defending pair was formed by Mykola Matviienko and Eduard Kozik; flanks were given to Yukhym Konoplia and Bohdan Mykhailichenko. Taras Stepanenko came back to work accompanied by Artem Bondarenko and Heorhii Sudakov in the center of the field. Mykhailo Mudryk and Dmytro Topalov had the roles of wingers and Andriy Totovytskyi had a central forward position.

Three goals without response

The game started with powerful pressure of Shakhtar players, who has already created a scoring chance in the opening minutes: passing move of the partners was finished by Stepanenko’s long-ranger just to hit the post. The Miners pressed the rivals in their penalty box already in the 11th minute. They stole the ball and earned a spot-kick (foul on Sudakov), which was converted by Mykhailo Mudryk into the lower corner, making it 0-1. The Miners continued attacking and only in the middle of half-time the hosts were able to move from their goal. But exactly at this moment net of the Slovenians caught the second goal: Matviienko made a gorgeous pass from his half of the field to Mykhailo Mudryk, who got away from two opponents and shot inside the near post, making it 0-2. During the next episode, the visitors made the score high: long combination was ended with accurate shot of Dmytro Topalov, who made it 0-3.

Crushing total

The second half was started in the same key: Shakhtar players were aggressive in pressing and made fast attacks creating chance near the goals of the opponents. Bondarenko made an attempt from the half circle two centimeters from the post. After another Mudryk’s run and cross Totovytskyi had the chance to score, but the ball was stopped almost on the line by the host defender. Domzale footballer had his chance during counter, but Topalovic missed the empty corner of Trubin’s goal. The Slovenians with completely new lineup changed during the break looked naturally better in comparison with the Miners, who made only one substitution during the match (Dmytro Kryskiv changed Stepanenko). But numbers on the scoreboard remained unchanged.

3-0 – Shakhtar earned a convincing victory over Domzale.
