Interview with Shakhtar women's team head coach Roman Zaiev
Shakhtar women's team has started training at the beginning of August after 5 months of forced pause. Coach of the Orange-and-Blacks Roman Zaiev told about special aspects of the starting stage of training and further plans.
– Week of the training camp is behind. What does the team work on at the moment and what was changed in the training process?
– The first week was focused on recovery of organism motor functions taking into account that this is the first training camp after a long pause. Also there are newcomers in the team, who need to get used to our requirements, so this week was introductory just to obtain common denominator. There were footballers, on which we had our eye: someone stayed at the training camp, someone left. And, as a rule, requirements to work intensity increase by the second week. A lot of exercises are added both of speed-type and endurance-type.
– Is there a possibility to play friendlies in the near future?
– We have no such task currently. Again, the team is back after a long pause and it makes no sense to throw it to play matches. We will fully dedicate the period of the first preliminary cycle to practicing of basic physical, technical and tactical principles. And when it is over, we will look for the teams at the second stage of the training camp to play friendlies that can prepare us for the championship beginning.
