On August 10, Shakhtar played the charity match against Al-Adalah FC from Saudi Arabia
Meeting took place in Brdo, Slovenia as a part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace in Ukraine. Proceeds from the sale of tickets and advertising will be used to purchase everything necessary for the defenders of Ukraine and civilians, who needs help.
Shakhtar players came on wearing shirts with logos of new humanitarian project, Pitch In For Ukraine, implemented in partnership with UNITED24 platform.
This time Igor Jovicevic decided to play with 4–4–2 formation. Place at the goal was taken by the captain Andriy Pyatov; Sergii Kryvtsov and Valerii Bondar acted in the center of defence; Igor Kiryukhantsev and Viktor Korniienko took fullback positions. Neven Djurasek and Oleg Ocheretko were in the field center; Oleksii Kashchuk played on the right side of midfield and Vladyslav Vakula was on the right side. Forward pair was represented by Danylo Sikan and Andrii Kulakov.
Minimal advantage
Both teams were very active from the beginning, but the Saudis played sharper in the opening stages creating some good opportunities: at first, the Miners were saved by the crossbar; then the rivals sent the ball above the goal; and Pyatov was backed up by the post in the third episode. Shakhtar had more action through the flanks and organized some dangerous moments after set pieces, but they could score only at the half end. In the 42nd minute, Kiryukhantsev passed to the penalty area, Danylo Sikan shot and the ball flied into the net bouncing from the defender and making it 1-0. The Ukrainians had the chance to double the advantage at once, but Sikan’s attempt was blocked by the goalkeeper, and, in addition, Kashchuk missed the goal.

The second half was with visible domination of Shakhtar players. Then there was Vladyslav Vakula, who, at first, made a dangerous attempt from the free kick (the ball went near the crossbar), and then he dribbled past the opponents and made a dangerous cross along the goal. The Saudis responded with long-rangers missing the target both times. Igor Jovicevic made a series of substitutions in the middle of half-time taking Oleksii Shevchenko, Serhii Chobotenko and Dmytro Kryskiv onto the field. Petro Stasyuk and Maryan Farina came on later. Fresh players added some dynamics and increased the team’s pace, exchanged with the moments in the final section. Kashchuk had an opportunity to score after a good combination, but his attempt was turned aside to a corner kick by the goalkeeper. The rivals created threat to the goal of the Miners from the set piece: the ball went over the crossbar.
