Shakhtar Social and the project partner DTEK organize training for children from different Ukrainian cities
Training session of Come On, Let's Play! project was held for children with disabilities in Kyiv. Girls and boys from 7 to 12 years old play football in capital-based Academy A+.
This session was special for children, because they were visited by Shakhtar newcomers Bohdan Mykhailichenko and Neven Djurasek. The players conducted warming-up and did some exercises together with children. Both the project participants and footballers received bright emotions from collective session.
Neven Djurasek, Shakhtar player:
– I am happy to be here today! It is good to see smiles on children’s faces. It is very important that we can give them these smiles in these hard times for Ukraine and Ukrainians. Such project makes it possible for children to see their heroes and feel that we are all part of the unified whole, that is, football.
Bohdan Mykhailichenko, Shakhtar player:
– Great emotions from this meeting! I think children had a good time. Everyone smiled. And it is an excellent experience for us as well: we played football with kids, made some exercises, talked, laughed. Children’s joy is the most important thing.
When the training session was over, Bohdan Mykhailichenko and Neven Djurasek gave some gifts to children and took commemorative picture.
We remind that Come On, Let's Play! project is implemented by the Shakhtar Social foundation with support of its general partner DTEK. Children and coaches of the project are provided with the required equipment for training.
We want to point out that from February 24 to August 1, SCM businesses, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and FC Shakhtar have granted UAH 3 billion or about USD 100 million to help Ukraine and Ukrainians, with the amount increasing daily. Humanitarian aid has already reached over 11 million people throughout the country.
