The attacking midfielder has joined Shakhtar women’s team
Nineteen-year-old footballer Mariia Vykaliuk signed a contract with Shakhtar, becoming a newcomer in Roman Zaiev's team this winter break. The contract runs until the season end with a two-year extension option.
Mariia will have the number 99, in this season’s first stage she played for Vinnytsia-based club EMS-Podillia (10 apps in the Premier League, 1 goal).

“We’ve got a ‘short bench’, it was necessary to increase the number of subs in order to play matches painlessly. I followed Mariia’s performance for a year. We made an offer, and it's good that the will to collaborate was mutual, which resulted in the signing of the contract. Mariia is one of the few who manages to take charge of the game and showcase some high-pace dribbling. She perfectly fits in with Shakhtar playing style, and we will deploy her in our attacking play.”
