Shakhtar women’s team claimed a confident win against EMS-Podillia

Starukhina played for Shakhtar again after injury, Krevska get back after suspension and Mostova came on instead of Klimova between the sticks.

Equal play

Shakhtar took the ball under their control from the first minutes and held the initiative. Right wing with Mokhnach and Holovach was distinctively active. However, continuous crosses had no destination and Vykaliuk’s bent attempt went wide. The opponents organized several counter-attacks and could even open the score in the 45th minute, intercepting the ball in the centre of the field and bringing Senkova one-on-one with goalkeeper, but Liubov Mokhnach managed to neutralized the threat in a tackle.

Holovach makes difference

After a break, Shakhtar continued to boss it and push the opponents against the goal. Yelyzaveta Molodiuk was moving to the left winger position and orchestrating fast attacks, although neither Vykaliuk nor Veherych had any luck in finishing. The first goal was scored after pressure in the rival half of the field and Mokhnach’s pass finished accurately by Holovach into the bottom corner. The match was interrupted due to air raid alert almost immediately. It benefited Roman Zaiev's team as Shakhtar scored for the second time shortly after: the captain beat four defenders of the opponents and shot, with defender Novak slicing the ball into the back of her own net. Shakhtar could make the score crushing after Mokhnach’s and Krevska’s chances, but they lacked accuracy.

Shakhtar claimed 10th win in Vinnytsia and entered the championship break with 30 points in the 3rd spot of the tournament table.
