Commentary of head coach of Obolon Serhii Shyshchenko after a defeat by Shakhtar
– We wanted to be disciplined in the match, and I think that the first half was successful for us in terms of defensive play. Of course, there were mistakes, but we acted very densely and did not let Shakhtar use their strengths. Shakhtar started playing more aggressively in the second half, and, unfortunately, we made mistakes that led to conceded goals.
– Serhii, did you have specific tasks set for you since you took charge of Obolon?
– I do not know which tasks the team had prior to my appointment, but now we understand that our main goal is to stay in the Premier League and show quality play and results to achieve this.
– Have you noticed progress and coordination between you and your team compared to the previous match against Oleksandriia?
– In defence – yes, because we acted very responsibly and densely. However, I really want us to be more aggressive in attack and make decisions more quickly when creating moments to score. There are things to work on, and we are successfully improving different aspects of the game at every training session. I promise that we will be better than we are now, but it takes time. However, we are short of it, considering that matches take place every week.
