Shakhtar women's team faced Ladomyr away on the Vyshcha League second stage MD4
Head coach of Shakhtar women's team Roman Zaiev chose the following starting line-up for the game against Ladomyr: Ustinova played in the goal, Kotovets and Sikorska appeared on the defensive wings, Kravchuk and Henyk played in the centre of defence, Myronenko, Veherych and Starukhina were in midfield, Holovach and Vykaliuk acted on the attacking wings, with Chaika in the centre-forward role.
Equal fight and minimal advantage of Ladomyr
The opening stages of the match passed slowly, with a struggle for initiative. The host team tried to move forward using throw-ins in the central zone, while the Miners acted between the flanks. The actions of Holovach were especially dangerous, as she constantly distracted the opponents and could have opened the scoring in the 18th minute, but after her curled shot the ball went centimetres away from the post. Shortly after that, Ladomyr responded with their own opportunity: Sanotska burst from the wing to the penalty area, from where she crossed to Nevar for a shot – Ustinova saved it while falling. The next attack of the Volodymyr-based team was effective: Nevar, after a cross from the central semi-circle, collided with Ustinova in the penalty area, but the referee allowed the game to continue, which Hladun took advantage of, directing the ball into the target. Towards the end of the first half, Hladun could have netted a brace, but she shot near the post from outside the penalty area.
Playing as leaders and intense final minutes
After the break, the coaching staff of the Orange-and-Blacks made a triple substitution: Zavidova, Lutsan and Mostova came on instead of Vykaliuk, Kravchuk and Kotovets. The Miners started the second half more actively and tried to reach the final third, using fast wings, but Ladomyr defence acted reliably and took the threat away, immediately launching counterattacks in response. In the 56th minute, Chaika could have equalised when she tried to turn a cross home with a header, but the forward lacked accuracy. Then the host team managed to push the ball away from their own goal and created several dangerous chances, but Ustinova's confident play prevented the opponents from extending their lead. In the 73rd minute, Shakhtar women's team head coach Roman Zaiev refreshed the attacking line by releasing Liakhovych. In the 83rd minute, the Miners managed to convert the chances into a goal: Chaika broke through the right wing and aimed for the far corner – the ball hit the post twice, and Zavidova was the first to pursue rebounds – 1-1. The end of the match was quite intense and full of moments near Novikova's goal, but Liakhovich and Chaika failed to convert the created chances.
