Shakhtar women's team hosted Kolos Kovalivka in Shchaslyve in the sixth round of the Vyshcha League second stage
Head coach of the Orange-and-Blacks Roman Zaiev chose the following starting line-up for the game: Karban played in the goal, Henyk, Lutsan, Sikorska and Kotovets appeared in defence, Starukhina, Myronenko and Veherych were in midfield, Vykaliuk and Holovach played on the wings, with Chaika taking the central forward position.
Wide-open half
The match began with a dangerous moment for the Miners: Holovach received a pass from Chaika, moved from the flank to Keliushyk's goal, but the captain lacked accuracy – the ball went near the post. In response, the Kovalivka team created their own opportunity after a corner kick, when Fedorenko shot over the crossbar. The opponents took turns controlling the ball, but the host team looked sharper. In the 9th minute, Veherych missed a great chance to open the scoring – the ball went wide after a close-range shot. The game continued evenly without a clear advantage for one of the teams. The Orange-and-Blacks tried to push the ball forward with wing throw-ins, while Kolos operated with short passes followed by a cross into the penalty area. In the final minutes of the first half, the Kovalivka team were more active, but Karban's confident play did not allow them to take the lead.
Reliable defense play
The second half began with a dangerous long-range shot by Semkiv to the very top corner, but Karban turned it for a corner while falling. After the set piece, Shakhtar's goal was again threatened – this time by Maiborodina, but the goalkeeper once again saved the team. The right flank played an active role in building the attacks of Kolos, however, Kotovets timely and confidently blocked Kunina's attempts to advance. The visiting team increased their speed and pressed Shakhtar to their own penalty area, but the Orange-and-Blacks responded with dangerous counterattacks. First, after a precise pass from Holovach, Chaika beat the opponent in the fight for a position and headed the ball towards the far corner – near the post. A minute later, Vykaliuk had a chance — again near the post. The final minutes of the match were extremely tense: Lutsan received a second booking for a foul and stopping a potentially dangerous attack. Kolos attacked Karban's goal until the last minute, but failed to change the score, so the final whistle recorded a draw.
0-0 – Shakhtar women's team tied with Kolos Kovalivka in an intense match. In the next round, Roman Zaiev's side will face Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.
