Shakhtar women’s team are preparing for the away clash with Ladomyr
Shakhtar footballers are filling the two-week international break with intensive training sessions and preparing for the match against Volodymyr Ladomyr. On Tuesday, April 8, the women's team had a session at the Academy facility in Shchaslyve.
It began with an extended warm-up in a game format, aimed at preparing the muscles for the upcoming physical load. The goalkeepers worked separately, improving basic ball-catching skills. Then the girls proceeded to a small-sided game with a neutral player in a limited area of the field, where one group focused on attacking actions while the other practised their defensive skills. The training session concluded with shooting drills.
Sofiia Lutsan, defender:
– During the first week of the international break, the training process was focused on physical work, and now we are working mainly on tactics and preparing for the match against Ladomyr. In particular, today we began with active warm-up exercises, followed by passing drills and shooting exercises.
– Shakhtar will play Ladomyr away this week. What do you know about your biggest opponents and what kind of game should be expected?
– Ladomyr are a highly ambitious team with young players who are quite uncompromising. I think the game will be tense and interesting.
– In your opinion, has the level of the league increased compared to previous years?
– It is obvious that the league level is increasing, making it more interesting for the fans. It should also be noted that the competition is intensifying, with the teams trying to imposed a decent fight against each other for the points.
The highlights of the training session are available in the photo gallery.
