We bring up champions
Academy's objective is bringing up and developing young players, preparing them to play for the first team.
The FC Shakhtar Academy teams U13 to U21 and Shakhtar women’s team are based in Shchaslyve, Kyiv Oblast.
A total of 172 football players are trained at the professional Academy under the supervision of 27 coaches.
The Miners have 6 fields at their disposal (4 natural pitches and 2 synthetic ones), with matches being held at 2 arenas of the complex. Shakhtar U19 and Shakhtar women’s team receive their Ukrainian league opponents at the Kniazha Arena stadium.
The training base area has a hotel, a room for theory sessions and a gym, a recreation area for players and a workspace for coaches. There is also a general education school there.

The FC Shakhtar Academy was founded in 2000.
Since the start of operation, the number of graduates has exceeded 500. Currently, about 60 percent of the first team are graduates of the club Academy, among them are Anatolii Trubin, Mykola Matviienko, Oleksandr Zubkov, Yaroslav Rakitskyi, Valerii Bondar, Heorhii Sudakov, Yukhym Konoplia, Viktor Korniienko, Artem Bondarenko and others. Over the recent five years, the following players have also been the starting XI regulars: Viktor Kovalenko, Maksym Malyshev, Mykyta Shevchenko, Andrii Boriachuk, Serhii Bolbat, Bohdan Butko, Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, Mykhailo Mudryk and others. The FC Shakhtar Academy graduates also play in the teams of the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1 and top divisions of other European championships.
The academy teams’ top achievement is advancement of Shakhtar U19 to the 2014/15 UEFA Youth League final.

Trials
In March and early August, they hold open days at the training base in Schaslyve (Kyiv Oblast) for the trials of young players and shortlisting candidates to be admitted to the Academy. Information about the dates and time will be posted in advance in FC Shakhtar’s social networking accounts.
