The Miners are 4 points ahead of their only opponents in the fight for the gold medals, Dynamo, 3 rounds before the end of the season. And it means that in case of victory over Kyiv team on Saturday, Shakhtar will win the championship title early.

Shakhtar claimed a confident victory over Chornomorets Odesa in the previous game (3-0). In that match, apart from Heorhii Sudakov and Kevin, the top goalscorer of the team Danylo Sikan, who already has 15 goals in all tournaments, scored again. On November 3, 2023, the teams met in the 13th UPL round at the Valerii Lobanovskyi Dynamo stadium in Kyiv. The first half passed in a positional struggle and without dangerous moments, but Shakhtar conducted an effective attack already at the beginning of the second half: Matviienko and Newertton put Zubkov in one on one, he confidently beat the goalkeeper and opened the scoring. Dynamo tried to equalise the score, but Shakhtar defended reliably and kept a minimal lead. 1-0 – victory of the Miners in the debut Ukrainian Clasico of Marino Pusic.
