About the foundation

Shakhtar Social is a non-profit foundation established by FC Shakhtar in 2018 to implement the club’s social and charitable projects, as well as to develop children’s grassroots football in Ukraine. Its objectives are promoting healthy lifestyles, instilling the right values and creating equal opportunities for all those who like and play football. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the fund's activities changed significantly, but the priority remained unchanged – helping children.

Goals

Shakhtar Social operates within the framework of three of the UN’s sustainable development goals:

provision of healthy lives and promotion of well-being for all at all ages;

quality education is the basis of a decent life and sustainable development;

empowerment of all women and girls.

Major activity areas

Shakhtar Social implements projects in 5 areas:

• development and popularization of children’s grassroots football;

• aid to the military;

• development of amputee football;

• elimination of consequences of the war.
