Bio & Career
Jadson came to Shakhtar in 2005, and in seven seasons left a huge mark in the history of the Donetsk club. In addition to various and numerous titles he won with the Pitmen, he inscribed his name in gold letters as the author of the winning goal in the final of the UEFA Cup and the first goal scored at the Donbass Arena.
Jadson Rodrigues da Silva was born on October 5, 1983 in Londrina. He received his football education in Atletico Paranaense, where he attracted the attention of Shakhtar scouts. In 2004, he was included in the symbolic team of the Brazilian league. Leading European clubs stood in line for the talented player, but the Donetsk club was the most persistent one and Jadson transferred to Ukraine.
During his time in Donetsk, the Brazilian became a five-time winner of the Ukrainian Premier League and won the local Cup two times. Jadson’s finest hour came in 2009, when he, along with Shakhtar, reached the UEFA Cup final, where his precise shot in extra time brought the Pitmen this prestigious trophy. An absolute favourite of Donetsk spectators appeared in 272 matches for the Orange-and-Blacks where he scored 64 times. Jadson’s game stood out with phenomenal skill, excellent vision of the field, sharp crosses and accurate shots from any distance.
Jadson left Shakhtar in January of 2012 for family reasons and went home. Eighteen months later he returned to the Donbass Arena, to take part in the opening of his star on the Walk of Fame on May 12, 2013.
