Bio & Career
At the age of 19, the Brazilian moved to Donetsk from Internacional with little experience of performing at a high level, but in the status of a club world champion.
Year by year, the forward improved his skills and key performances. In the 2007/08 season, he notched 5 goals, in the following year, he claimed 9 strikes, and in the 2009/10 season, he netted 17 goals. He scored one of them in regular time of the UEFA Cup final against Werder, Germany. A year later, he took his tally to 20 goals.
Later, Adriano turned out to be the first player of the Orange-and-Blacks, who registered 5 goals in a single match of the Champions League group stage (in the match vs BATE in Borysov on October 21, 2014). Luiz recorded the fastest poker in the competitions history (17 minutes).
The striker made 266 apps for the Miners and scored 128 goals to become Shakhtar's top scorer for a long time.
