Shakhtar will face Slovenian side Brinje Grosuplje in the test match. The game will take place in Brdo. It kicks off at 19:00 Kyiv time.

Opponents

NK Brinje was formed in 2003 in Grosuplje, located in central Slovenia. After many years in the lower divisions, the team won the Third League in the 2021/22 season and have since competed in the Slovenian Second League. In the 2024/25 campaign, the club finished fourth out of 16 in the league (55 points in 30 matches, goal difference: 58-31) – their best result to date. However, it was not enough to secure promotion, as only the top two sides advance to the elite division.

Brinje have a relatively young squad, with an average age of 21.9 years. The roster includes mostly of local players, although there are a few international players too. Two Brinje players featured among the top five scorers in last season’s Slovenian Second League: wingers Josip Zorica (12 goals) and Anis Jasaragic (11 goals). However, both left the club this summer. The captain is 26-year-old centre-back Nejc Pusnik. The head coach is 39-year-old Slovenian specialist Goran Markovic, who has been in charge for four consecutive seasons.

This summer, Brinje have played just one friendly so far, beating Slovenian First League bronze medallists Koper 1-0. Their official season kicks off in early August.
