Charity

helping children

Shakhtar Social implements charitable initiatives.

Since 2014, Shakhtar footballers and coaches have been aiding the Kharkiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital No. 1. The charitable contribution over 5 years amounted to UAH 1.15 million. Thanks to the donated medical equipment, over 15,000 children received qualified assistance.

In 2019, Shakhtar Social carried out a project for the reconstruction of the Yuvileinyi sports complex in Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast. The only gym in the city where children train all the time (it has football, volleyball, ping-pong, gymnastics and boxing sections) was damaged as a result of hostilities. Shakhtar players allocated over UAH 2 million for the facility repairs.

Shakhtar players regularly make charitable contributions to the Shakhtar Social foundation. The foundation uses the funds received from Junior Moraes, Andriy Pyatov, Viktor Kovalenko, David Khocholava, Mykola Matviienko and other footballers to purchase additional equipment for the Come On, Let’s Play! project.

The former Shakhtar captain and club ambassador Darijo Srna organized with the support of Shakhtar Social a project called Darijo 33. The competition covered almost the whole of Ukraine - about 100 applications filled in by amateur teams, school teams and neighbourhood ones came from settlements in 17 regions. Each of the 33 best teams received gifts from Darijo: 15 player kits (a T-shirt, shorts, socks) and 10 footballs.
