FC Shakhtar signed a two-year deal with the Spanish coach Andres Carrasco
Andres Carrasco was born on March 4, 1978. For 12 years, he has worked as the head coach of teams of different ages at the Barcelona academy and headed the methodology department of La Masia.
In the new season, the Spanish specialist and Shakhtar U19 face ambitious goals in the UEFA Youth League and the Ukrainian Championship.
- I'm delighted to take charge of a team of the Academy of Shakhtar, one of Europe’s top football clubs. This is a huge step forward for me, - says Andres Carrasco. - I’ve spent many years at Barcelona, working as a head coach, a coordinator of several age groups, also being responsible for the development of methodology and training programmes. Now I will try to pass my knowledge and expertise to the new team and the whole Academy. The major objective for the season with Shakhtar U19 is to claim the top spot in the Ukrainian league, and also to deliver some great performance and advance far in the UEFA Youth League, because this tournament is an excellent motivation for the guys. I can say that both the players and the coaching staff will give their all for the Miners to spend the season as best as possible.
