Bohdan Butko and Taison shared their thoughts about defeating Zorya
Bohdan Butko, defender:
- The victory came out really dramatic, it was hard. Currently, the championship points and all the meetings are difficult. At 1-0, we played more based on the score but still allowed our opponents to take many shots on target, so Zorya’s goal was not that unexpected. We believed in our victory to the end, attacked and created many chances. We should have scored more goals because if we want to become the champions, we must win such matches. Emotions after the second goal? When Taison got himself on the scoresheet, I had a feeling that I was born anew. That was just a cry from the heart! We understand that we can become the champions already in the next round, and we hope for that, but we must fight to the last game and do everything necessary for victory. We also need to remember that in just three days we’ll have the Cup final against Dynamo. Now we are switching to that game, we’ll get ready for it. The final is the final, we’ve reached the last game and now we need to win it.

We fought to the bitter end, we needed to win it to get a step closer to our goal
Taison, midfielder:
- I'm not a hero. Every player of our team is a hero today. We fought to the bitter end, we needed to win it to get a step closer to our goal. It wasn’t easy, because Zorya is a great club, which we always have difficult matches with. I want to highlight the opposing keeper separately – he’s a fantastic goalkeeper, he plays perfectly in every match against Shakhtar. He’s a young guy, he’s got some great future. Today, he also made several saves, but I still managed to score the winning goal. I went through because I felt responsible because the game was drawing to a close back then. I handled the ball well, brought it through, and I was lucky that the defenders exposed themselves. And then I thought that I was going to score that goal! And now I'm very happy that I managed to help my teammates to win it.
- What did you feel when the whole team were running to congratulate you near the corner flag?
- To be honest, my thoughts were about catching my breath, - I got very tired. This was a difficult match, plus hot weather, a lot of running. Thank God that I scored a goal. I dedicate it to all the fans, to my family and especially to my mother who marks her birthday today. There are two more league games ahead, and we need to take those two steps to the title. We’ll also have the Cup final, which we must win, it just can’t be otherwise. With all due respect to the opponents, we want to win this final.
