Over a very short period of time, the team progressedfrom the Championship of the city of Uzhhorod to the Premier League. Vasyl Kobin, a former Shakhtar player, has been coaching the team since 2019.
It so happened that due to the coronavirus issues in the ranks of Lviv, the Minaj side missed the 1st league round, debuting with a 1-0 victory over Oleksandriia. TheTranscarpathians’first UPL goal was scored by Anton Shynderwho also used to be a Shakhtar player a few years ago. Minaj’s fans had to wait for the team’s next successful game for eight rounds. In seven games, Minaj suffered defeats at the hands of Olimpik, Dynamo, Mariupol and Desna, they also drew with Inhulets, Kolos and Rukh. In Uzhhorod on November 22, they had a productive match against Dnipro-1, in which Minaj conceded the opener, but responded to it with Nuriev's double and Pinyashko’s goal to secure a 3-2 win. In the last match,Vasyl Kobin’s men suffered a 0-3 home defeat to Zorya - all those goals were conceded from the 53rd to the 61st minute.
