Shakhtar have not scored any points in the UEFA Youth League and sit in the fourth spot in their group. This said, the boys of Serhii Shyschenko retain the chance of advancing to the knockout stages, as their major competitors Napoli and Feyenoord have only four points each. Last weekend, the Miners won another Ukrainian U19 League match, defeating Arsenal-Kyiv (4-1). The victory is the team’s eighth consecutive win in the domestic league, where the Donetsk team are confidently leading.

Feyenoord, who debuted in the UEFA Youth League, started their campaign with a defeat at Man City (0-2), then missing their chance in Naples (2-2). Lady luck shone on the Rotterdam side a fortnight ago, when they defeated the Miners at home.

The meeting in Rotterdam on October 17 was the first for the sides. Feyenoord opened the scoring early (in the 6th minute Kokcu got himself on the scoresheet), and shortly before the break they developed their success by scoring two goals in a row (Zwarts and Vente). The second half passed was dominated by Shakhtar, but the hosts netted one again, with Vente securing a double. In the end, the Donetsk outfit earned a spot kick only to see Maksym Chekh strike wide. 4-0 – the Dutch side proved stronger in the last game.
