Shakhtar U19

Vladyslav Kuzmenko (49)

Preview

In the round's centrepiece game, the U19 premiership second and third teams will lock horns. Shakhtar (46 points) retain the title-winning chances, but to do that the Donetsk team need to claim wins themselves and watch out for the opponents’ failures. Currently, Serhii Shyschenko's boys are the scoring leaders this season (63 goals scored and 22 goals conceded), with as many as three Miners topping the top 5 scorers list: Oleksii Kaschuk (11 goals), Vladyslav Kuzmenko (9) and Andrii Kulakov (9).

The stage 1 game ended in Shakhtar’s confident 3-0 win (with Maksym Chekh, Oleksii Kaschuk and Dmytro Kryskiv getting themselves on the scoresheet).

Opponents

Karpaty won the U19 league bronze medals twice in their history, therefore they would not mind challenging a higher spot this season. The Lviv team have 41 points (goal difference is 37-20), being five points adrift of the Miners and ahead of Veres for the same number of points. The most prolific player is Andrii Remenyuk (9 goals).
