Shakhtar continue their successful path in the Premier League: 16 points in 6 matches (goal difference: 13-3). On Sunday, Igor Jovicevic’s lads won their fifth victory in a row confidently defeating the major opponent, Dynamo Kyiv (3-1). Oleksandr Zubkov scored in the third game without interruption: the midfielder opened the score in the Ukrainian Clasico after two goals against Real Madrid in the Champions League. The winning goal of the Miners was scored by Mykhailo Mudryk having 10 points according to the goal+pass system (3 goals and 7 assists). Danylo Sikan scored his third goal and caught up with Zubkov by efficiency (both have 4 goals each). We want to note that goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin and defender Mykola Matviienko appeared in all 10 matches of the championship and the Champions League without substitutions (900 minutes each).
The Orange-and-Blacks continue their winning streak in the UPL, which has begun in previous season and currently musters 21 matches (18 wins and 3 draws).
Kolos got 11 points in 6 opening league matches (goal difference: 5–3) taking 7th spot in the UPL table. Yaroslav Vyshniak’s men started the season from victory over Kryvbas (1-0) and Rukh (2-0), then they played draw with Minaj (1-1), defeated Metalist. They have only one loss to Metalist 1925 (0-2). At the beginning of October, Kovalivka-based team shared points with Inhulets (0-0) and skipped the next round due to postponement of the game with Zorya.
Kolos traditionally demonstrate defence security conceding only 3 goals and are in the top three according to this performance (on a par with Dnipro-1 and Shakhtar). Herewith, Kolos became one of the least productive teams of the league with 5 scored goals. We want to note that the Kovalivka side cannot score already for 198 minutes.
Shakhtar and Kolos played 7 matches in the Ukrainian League: 6 of them were won by the Miners and 1 match the teams played draw. Total goal difference: 19–2 in favour of the Orange-and-Blacks.
On November 7, 2021, Kolos and Shakhtar met in Kovalivka. Mykola Matviienko opened the score in the 14th minute and Fernando doubled the advantage shortly after. At the end of the second half, Oleh Iliin pulled one goal back, but the visitors had the last word: Mykhailo Mudryk made the final result in the 72nd minute. 3–1 – the Miners win.
