The capital-based club Obolon-Brovar was founded in the winter of 2013. As soon as in the summer, it received a professional status and entered the Second League. The team finished their debut year in the seventh spot, and in the 2014/15 season they won silver medals and the First League berth. There, the Brewers finished third, later dropping to a lower position (the 9th, 14th, and 6th position, respectively).
The Kyiv outfit started the current season 2019/20 under the leadership of Serhii Kovalets, but by the winter-time they dropped to the fifth spot, with the U21 coach Oleh Mazurenko taking charge of the first team instead. At the training camp, they had 9 friendlies (5 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats; goal difference of 13-6).
