The Pitmen have to prove their superiority, having an advantage of four goals after a confident away victory over Vorskla in the first game. According to the Pitmen’s mentor, Vorskla are one of the best sides of the Ukrainian league. This is confirmed by the fifth spot occupied by Poltava and their being just three points adrift of Dnipro.

Vorskla defender Oleksiy Dityatyev will not be playing vs Shakhtar due to suspension after his being sent off in the first leg.
