Roberto De Zerbi’s men will meet with Belgrade-based Crvena Zvezda. The match kicks off at 16:00 Kyiv time and will be aired live on Shakhtar TV on the official website and via the FC Shakhtar mobile app (Google Play and App Store).

Crvena Zvezda was founded in 1945, being the most decorated club in Serbia. Last season, the Red-Whites confidently won the league trophy, scoring 108 points in 38 matches (the unbeaten run), while Partizan earned 95 points (5 defeats). The domestic Cup also belongs to Crvena Zvezda. However, this season our opponents are in the second spot, five points adrift of Partizan. The Serbian league has seen 21 rounds to date: the Red-Whites won 17 matches, tied on three occasions and suffered one defeat.

The team is managed by the legendary Serbian footballer Dejan Stankovic who made a name for himself in Italy while playing for Lazio and Inter and winning the UEFA Champions League with the Milan club. He has been coaching Crvena Zvezda for three years and has had 99 competitive matches (76 wins) as their coach.

Interestingly, Shakhtar and Crvena Zvezda locked horns in Turkey exactly a year ago, on 31 January 2021. That match ended 0-0, although the teams had some scoring chances. On three occasions, scoring situations were decided by the safe performance of the goalkeepers Pyatov, Trubin and Borjan.
