Footballers of the Donetsk team reflect on the victory over Metalist

- I haven’t fully recovered from the injury, it is the kind of injury that will ache for a long time. But I really wanted to play today. In fact, I did not do anything in the penultimate match of my national team: I just spent 40 minutes on the field in the meeting with Israel and that’s all. Therefore, against Metalist I had to make it for at least 60 minutes. Now I feel fine. I feel the pain a bit, but that’s the way it should be. First of all, I would like to congratulate Shakhtar: it’s not easy to score eight goals against any opponents. The only pity is that Pyatov has not scored, I think everyone could score. Secondly, it is necessary to thank the players and the coach of the Kharkiv team, which in such a difficult situation travel to take part in games without being paid a salary, but still defend the honour of their club. I wish Metalist good luck and I would like their business to recover in the future. We, just like any team, try not to concede goals, but it's good that we managed to score more than the opponents did. We score a lot of goals, it makes me happy. A good result before playing Braga, where there will be a completely different game. We have a good chance, but we must proceed step by step. Braga are a very strong team, they would be unlikely to have reached this stage of the competition, had they not played in a quality way. We need to be careful, to explore the opponents and carefully prepare for this encounter.

I scored against my former team, but there’s nothing special about it. Take to the pitch just to do my job, I do not even notice who I score it against. The main thing is winning. Many players were involved in the move that resulted in my goal. Without false modesty I want to say that this was probably the most spectacular goal in today's match. Overall, we had an important encounter, which gave us confidence ahead of the meeting with Braga. Even at a big score, we tried to continue attacking, honing new moves, trying to score in different situations – such is the game plan of the head coach. Today, we have managed to do almost anything required by Mister.
