Miguel Cardoso, head coach of Shakhtar U21:
- When the opponents are playing with ten men behind the ball, focusing on the box line, with their holding line being just five meters above the defensive one, it is very difficult to reach the goal. Had we scored the second goal, since we had chances, we would have won this match easily. Olimpik were expecting an error from us, with us knowing that we mustn’t do that. Despite the advantage, we had to proceed with caution. Currently, the result is vital, with the team continuing to win. We understand the reality, wisely approaching every encounter. The guys got that message at half-time and, in fact, did not give a chance to the opponents, which was also important - not to concede any goals. And scoring at least once, we will win. The team deserve praise today because the players understood the game properly and accurately followed the coaching instructions.
