Chornomorets vs Shakhtar: player opinion

Bernard, Shakhtar midfielder:

- Sometimes playing against teams from the lower part of the table is very hard. Those opponents are dissatisfied with their performance, so they are very motivated. They give their all, often waiting for the one and only scoring chance throughout the match. It’s happened so today. My goal? I've been working a lot on free kicks, both involving the keeper and without him. I’ve been learning to do that since my childhood, when I used to play for Atletico Mineiro. Overall, we’ve had enough chances today: Nem, Marlos, Ordets... I do not know how to explain it.

Ismaily, Shakhtar defender:

- It was an incredibly tough match against very aggressive opponents. The Odesa side have shown the best of their capabilities today. And we, unfortunately, failed to convert our chances. We played the first half pretty well, but gave one away in the second half. In many a league,  when top teams meet with those sitting bottom of the table, the latter showcase huge motivation and try produce the best result. 

That’s football, that happens. Besides, it’s not easy to fight on three fronts at the same time. We take a great number of trips and travel a lot, with the players getting tired, so it is difficult to vary the players. But, that fact notwithstanding, we try to give our all. We’ve got to forget this result, raise our heads and move on. Now we will be preparing for the Europa League, trying to make it to the competition final, as well as raise the Ukrainian Cup.
