Mircea Lucescu: Set-piece error was fatal

- The result which the hosts have deserved. They fought for it, playing well and orderly. Meanwhile, we must have scored as early as the first half. In the second half, there was room for complacency and the fatal set-piece error, when they scored against us. After that, it was very difficult to rip open the opposing defence. Chornomorets defended deploying large forces. While we delivered too many long balls where the opposition tall players won everything. By doing so, we made it easier for them to defend, as they easily cleared the ball. My compliments to Chornomorets. I want to mention the motivation and ambition with which the opponents have performed today. But this in no way justifies us and our performance. Perhaps, to an extent, our players spared themselves getting prepared for the upcoming game vs Sevilla, not wanting to get injured. Plus now it gets clear why I don’t allow the loaned players to appear vs Shakhtar. The way Dyanchenko played against Bernard is abnormal! We allowed him to take the field, but playing so rough... A similar thing happened vs Zorya. Malyshev also played rough against us - against Stepanenko and Kryvtsov. The young football players probably want to show themselves in the game against Shakhtar and just cross the line. In general, even before tonight's game, it was difficult to win the league title. Unfortunately, perhaps, the players were thinking just like that. Now the most important thing is to prepare well for Sevilla.

- Fielding Taison, Marlos, Eduardo, did you expect them to play technically and outside the box? Are you happy with the performance of the players who came off the bench?
- Everyone thought more about Sevilla than about today's match. And the hosts played very harshly, even cruelly at times. Perhaps the ref was late in terms of booking both them and us. He should have done that earlier. Most importantly, the match ended without the players getting injured. But after the match, Dentinho and Bernard got some issues. It is difficult to rip open the team who just park the bus, rarely trying to play on the counter. This may result in a stalemate, but not a win.
