Shakhtar U21 team players reflect on the match against Dynamo

Daniil Sagutkin, Shakhtar defender:

- We approached the game with proper mindset. One always looks forward to those matches with impatience. I would not say that our defence underwent high pressure today. In the second half we were left short-handed, with nothing to lose, we had to expose ourselves and charge forward. We tried to save the match, but lacked some luck. We created some good chances, but failed to win back the ball as it wouldn’t find the back of the net. At the end of the meeting, we certainly got somewhat tired, with the opponents taking advantage of that. Of course, it affected our self-esteem. With two games remaining, we need to win and try to forget today's match.

Yevhen Hrytsenko, Shakhtar goalkeeper:

- In the first half, we conceded a goal after a free kick, but the goal did not affect the course of the game. At 0-1, we had moments when we could recoup, but luck did not shine on us. Of course, sending off in the opening minutes of the second half was of a huge significance.

We risked it all, put everything on the line, causing us to concede more goals, although we had a chance to at least equalise
We were down to ten men. We could have focused on defence and also lose 0-1. But we risked it all, put everything on the line, causing us to concede more goals, although we had a chance to at least equalise. Of course, I have a very unpleasant aftertaste inside. We could say that we’ve lost the title game. We must go through it and draw the conclusions. We still have two more games. We simply must win them.
