After the match with Karpaty the Pitmen's reserve team players shared their impressions of the game

Oleksandr Pikhalionok, FC Shakhtar U21 captain:

– We played well throughout both halves, completely controlling the game and creating plenty of scoring opportunities. By all accounts, we should have scored three or four goals and won confidently. But sometimes we were unlucky, sometimes we lacked composure in completing the attacks. And the opponents, having barely demonstrated anything at all, scored and achieved a result.
I think we lacked the skill in the final stage. You can win only when you have good conversion. And in this element we have a lot to work on
Yurii Hlushchuk, FC Shakhtar U21 midfielder:

– We could have taken the issue of winning off the table in the first half, if we had converted out chances. There were at least five good opportunities to score. Then the game would have gone a completely different way. Instead, we conceded and found ourselves in a difficult situation: we had to open up, go forward, and the opponents got more space for counters. We also had plenty of chances in the second half - we just needed to score. I think we lacked the skill in the final stage. You can win only when you have good conversion. And in this element we have a lot to work on.
