15 Shakhtar players have been capped by various national teams

The Ornge-and-Blacks are most widely represented in Ukraine national team. The head coach Andriy Shevchenko has put11 Pitmen on the training list ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Iceland. The following players may be fielded at the NSC Olympiyskyi on September 5: the goalkeepers Andriy Pyatov and Mykyta Shevchenko; the defenders Oleksandr Kucher, Ivan Ordets, Yaroslav Rakits’kyy, Bohdan Butko, Sergii Kryvtsov; the midfielders Taras Stepanenko, Maksym Malyshev and Viktor Kovalenko, as well as the striker Ievgen Seleznov.

Shakhtar attacking midfielder Taison will make his debut for Brazil national team on September 2, when the Pentacapeoes play Ecuador away in the 2018 World Cup qualifier. Five days later, Tite’s team will be entertaining Colombia.

Another three Pitmen will have an opportunity to play for Ukraine U20 and U21 teams. Thus, Oleksandr Zubkov has a chance of appearing in a U20 friendly match against Estonia on September 5. Also, Mykola Matviienko and Andrii Boriachuk may well appear in the qualifying matches of the 2017 UEFA European U21 Championship against France andScotland. The first leg is to be held on September 2, the return one on September 6.
