The Pitmen will start the year 2017 without the Croatian striker

Eduardo da Silva moved to Shakhtar from London-based Arsenal in July 2010. In his debut season, Dudu was the team’s top scorer in the Champions League, with his goals helping the Orange-and-Blacks beat Arsenal and Roma and also reach the competition quarter-finals. The Croat’s precision effort brought the Donetsk side the 2011 Ukrainian Cup final win. Over the first four seasons, Eduardo has claimed nine silverware pieces with the Pitmen.

In the 2014/15 season, the striker played for Flamengo, Brazil.

In 2015, Eduardo returned to Shakhtar and produced his strongest season performance with the Orange-and-Blacks. He boasts some crucial goals in the Europa League knockout stages, as well as in the Premier League and the Ukrainian Cup (18 goals in all competitions). In the final voting, the fans named Eduardo Player of the 2015/16 season.

Aggregately, the Croatian striker made 173 appearances and netted 57 goals for Shakhtar. He won four Ukrainian League titles, raised four Ukrainian Cups and three domestic Super Cups.

FC Shakhtar thanks Eduardo for the years he spent with the team, for his major contribution to the club achievements, wishing him every success alongside more victories on and off the pitch!
