Club Brugge v Shakhtar: player opinions

Bernard, Shakhtar midfielder:

- It was a rather good game. We played with the champions of Belgium. Club Brugge make powerful opponents. It was a very important test match in terms of our training for a Super Cup game against Dynamo. There were less opportunities created in the second half than the first, and it is not surprising, since we try to give our all in the first half. It is harder to play after half time because of the intensive training. Of course, when the Premier League begins, the sessions will not be so vigorous and the team will be able to keep a high tempo for the whole 90 minutes. 

Vyacheslav Shevchuk, Shakhtar defender:

- Even during this short vacation, I tried to keep fit. Physically, I feel great. We are professionals and we need to work on ourselves every day, because we have a tough season in front of us. The training sessions are interesting, and we have a positive attitude. The new coach changed the formation in defence and midfield. We must now act simultaneously. When we achieve that, we will show good results. We still make mistakes, since we have been working together very little. But, I think, we will quickly understand the new principles of the game. We had a decent game against Brugge. The main thing is that we had no injuries.
