In the afternoon the Pitmen headed to the field of the Wittenhorst complex
Before starting their work with the ball, the team had about an hour of fitness training. After that Paulo Fonseca dedicated time to tactical training - positional attacks and defenders formation in case of losing the ball. Darijo Srna trained with the main group.
- I learned a lot of new things, - Shakhtar midfielder Viacheslav Tankovskyi says. - The head coach teaches us how to move around the field, how to spot for the teammates, to open up. Paulo Fonseca has his own demands to the game of central midfielders. You always need to adjust to your partners. You need to move from defence to attack properly. A lot depends on it. The training sessions are hard, and there is plenty of fitness to boot. It feels great to be in a team like Shakhtar.
For the past several days the Orange-and-Black sessions are closely watched by a group of young local footballers. After the final whistle of Paulo Fonseca they run for autographs. The Brazilians are especially popular among the boys.
