On the morning of July 8, the Pitmen had another training session
Before the session, the team wished Ivan Ordets a happy birthday. On the festive occasion, Paulo Fonseca allowed the hotel cooks to bake a lunch cake for the players. The Portuguese mentor based the ninety-minute session on tactical exercises. The players practised fluid play in midfield with transitions from defence to attack. The training finished with a full-pitch game.
- I feel 100 percent ready. I just cannot wait for the competitive games to start - said Shakhtar midfielder Fred. - The team work with great dedication in training. It’s been a great pre-season for us. We have learnt a lot of new things. Tomorrow, we are facing our last friendly game in the Netherlands. I believe that the number of games is fully sufficient to attain the required form. Most importantly, the team step it up from match to match. I believe we will have a good season.
