Champions League: Shakhtar to play vs Young Boys

On July 15, Nyon hosted the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round draw. At this stage of the tournament, Shakhtar will be challenged by Young Boys, Switzerland

The third qualifying round fixtures have been scheduled for 26/27 July and 2/3 August. The Pitmen are to play the first legat home and the return leg away.

Young Boys was founded in 1898 in Bern. Over their long history, the Pitmen's opponents won the reputation of one of the country’s best teams. They are 11-time champions of Switzerland and six-time Cup winners. Their biggest European achievement is advancing to the UEFA European Champion Clubs' Cup semi-finals in the 1958/59 season, where the Bees lost to Stade de Reims, France on aggregate.

Last season, Young Boys became the Swiss League runners-up, losing to Basel. The team are coached by a 46-year-old Austrian specialist Adi Hütter. The Orange-Black’s opponents play their home games at the Stade de Suisse, whose seating capacity is nearly 32,000.

The Donetsk team have never played Young Boys in competitive games.
