On June 13, the Pitmen started preparing for the new football season
In the morning, the players went to have a scheduled medical examination. The first to arrive were Eduard Sobol, Artur Zahorulko and Serhiy Vakulenko. Somewhat later, they were joined by Oleksandr Volovyk, Andriy Totovytskyi and Vyacheslav Tankovskyi. Towards midday, the medical centre was visited by Anton Kanibolotskyi, Serhiy Kryvtsov, Ivan Ordets, Maksym Malyshev, Vasyl Kobin, Bohdan Sarnavskyi, Mykola Matvienko, Giorgi Arabidze, Ivan Petryak, Oleh Danchenko, Andriy Boryachuk, Andriy Korobenko, Oleh Kudryk, Oleksandr Zubkov, Eduardo, Facundo Ferreyra, Dentinho, Bernard and Marcio Azevedo. Shortly, Taison, Marlos and Ismaily will join the team.

- The vacation was excellent. First, I went to visit my parents. I stayed there for a week, talked with the family, and then flew with my girlfriend to Turkey for a vacation. I am missing football, as well as my teammates. I already want to play. We should do a lot of work, and now each of the players will make every effort to stay at Shakhtar. Of course, we all have been closely watching the European Championship in France. We are rooting for our lads. Yesterday, we watched the match against Germany. It is a pity, of course, that Ukraine suffered a defeat. The guys prepared for it seriously, but major competition is still ahead.
Mykola Matvienko, FC Shakhtar defender:
- I rested well. I was in Ukraine U21 team. Then I went home, saw the family, talked with the relatives. I got charged with positive emotions, being fully ready to dedicate myself to work. Especially as we have a new coach in the team, and each of Shakhtar players will try to show their best side.
Shakhtar’s first training session is scheduled for the morning of June 14.
