Shakhtar Donetsk concluded their European club cup season by the game in Seville
It was special in its own way. We conducted 18 meetings against 9 teams from 8 European countries: 4 in the Champions League qualifying round, 6 in the group stage and 8 in the Europa League.
In each encounter, Shakhtar tried to show their best qualities. We fought for the honour of our home city Donetsk, for the suffering Donbas, for the honour of Ukraine and for our fans. Advancing to the Europa League semi-finals is definitely a good result, but not an achievement, because our club’s goal is winning titles and trophies. We wanted more.
We have played all of the 9 home games away from home, away from Donetsk. But the support that we felt at the Arena Lviv deserves the best words of sincere gratitude. We know that the matches were attended not only by Lviv residents, but also by the inhabitants of many Ukrainian cities and towns, including our loyal fans from Donetsk.
Today, FC Shakhtar Donetsk thanks everyone who supported the club throughout the European club cup campaign.
