Shakhtar U21 team players speak up ahead of the game against Karpaty

Andriy Boriachuk, Shakhtar U21 forward:

- Of course, I know that I’ve got just one goal left to set the U21 championship record, but I don’t even want to focus on it. I know just one thing: I’ve got to score. But I can’t, and I don’t attempt to comment on this circumstance. I’ve played badly today - it's probably my worst game. Maybe some kind of decline, or something else, but nothing gets right. In training, everything seems to be fine: I give my all, try my best, but when I take the pitch - nothing goes right. As for the game against Karpaty: we started well, but finished poorly. Lviv scored their goals and dropped deep. However, previously, we managed to pull some back right before half-time. We just wanted to take revenge after the last defeat, but now I’m just speechless.
This is my first game of the season, I got some jitters, but the worries disappeared with the opening whistle
Oleh Kudryk, Shakhtar U21 goalkeeper:

- This is my first game of the season, I got some jitters, but the worries disappeared with the opening whistle. It was a crucial game for me, and my relatives were present in the stands. Unfortunately, it did not work. I got wrong while scoring the second goal: I didn’t see the ball, but still had to help out the team – I had to keep my hands firmer. We started well, but then, apparently, got slack, with many mistakes on our part. We lost concentration and conceded two goals in a row. Three goals altogether is too much for Shakhtar, while it was also my fault, alongside that of the whole team. We’ve got a closing game against Zorya left, which we need to prepare for, win it and go on holiday in a great mood.
The coach told us not to lose concentration, but what happened has happened - two goals affected us significantly
Andriy Korobenko, Shakhtar U21 midfielder:

- Initially, the mood was good: we agreed with the guys that we need to rehabilitate ourselves after Dynamo. We managed to score early and then slowed down. The coach told us not to lose concentration, but what happened has happened - two goals affected us significantly. We then slumped, although were going to put the squeeze on the opponents. But this penalty... It was difficult to come back then. Perhaps we got across a spell of bad luck: we couldn’t get together at the right time, to play through the pain barrier. Those qualities just disappeared somewhere...
