Shakhtar U21 reflect on the match against Zorya

Orest Tkachuk, Shakhtar U21 forward:

- Thanks to the coaches and the team for their support! For me, it was a debut game for the U21 senior team. We tried to fulfil the coach’s game plan, we could have added another couple of goals on top of those scored, but our finishing let us down. I had a couple of good chances, but I should treat similar situations more seriously. Of course, I felt the difference between the games for U19 team and those for U21: here the level is much higher, everything is faster and tougher. In this respect, I may not have fulfilled the game plan, as it was necessary to quickly mark the opposition men after losing the ball. But generally, the team did it right, and the score, as they say, is on the board.
It was important to pass it accurately to a teammate to get a real feel for the action. I am glad that everything turned out the right way. In general, emotions just spill over!
Oleksiy Kashchuk, Shakhtar U21 forward:

- Of course, I got nervous when coming on as a sub. I played as a forward, but then we swapped our positions on the pitch. The coaches asked us to play calmly, in a more simple way and just enjoy it. It was important to pass it accurately to a teammate to get a real feel for the action. I am glad that everything turned out the right way. In general, emotions just spill over! Because I managed to score one, however, they ruled out the goal. I do not know who was offside at that moment – me or Gorbunov. I am grateful to Miguel for the chance. And, of course, I want to thank my U17 team mentors – Valeriy V. Rudakov and Oleksandr M. Koval.
In the closing game of the seasonwe tried to showcase our game and enjoy the meeting
Mykhailo Shyshka, Shakhtar U21 captain:

- In the closing game of the seasonwe tried to showcase our game and enjoy the meeting. Also, we deployed the guys from the teams U19 and U17, whom the coach gave the opportunity to prove themselves for the U21 team. We played well for the opening 20 minutes. We were in control of the developments on the field and scored a goal, but then we got somewhat flat. At half-time, the coach paid attention to that point and prompted us how we should act in the second half. After that, we played a little quieter and pressed them better, which influenced the outcome. We are delighted at the win! After the match, there was a meeting at which they thanked us all for the job well done.
