The Pitmen reflect on the Ukrainian League game against Zorya
Vyacheslav Shevchuk, Shakhtar defender:
- I got injured today, but I don’t think it’s anything serious. I felt the cramps and decided to play it safe, so I left the field. I suppose that in three or four days’ time everything will be fine. In general, the audience saw a combative game between two teams. Every game is important to us, despite its competitive value. Nem was the only Brazilian to have been fielded, but the overall pattern didn’t change due to that. Because of the injuries, we had to reshuffle the flanks, but that’s normal for football. Totovytskyi played well for the visitors - he scored three beautiful goals. Zorya feature numerous Shakhtar graduates, they always give their all, I would generally mention the entire opposing team. Luhansk have been playing excellently over the recent years, deservedly being at the top of the standings.

- In general, it was a good rehearsal for the Cup final. Today we played with two forwards in the offensive third, while usually just one striker spearheads attacks. As for my goal, it is important to me in terms of self-confidence. A large number of young players was involved in today's match. I think the guys will have a great future, but they still need more time and practice. Besides, almost all Brazilians, except Wellington Nem, have been absent today. The Brazilian style of play is different from the rest, so it took us more time to start playing more cohesively.
