On May 29, Ukraine national team had a friendly match in preparation for the Euro 2016 finals. The charges of Mykhailo Fomenko defeated Romania

Shakhtar starting line-up featured four Shakhtar players: Andriy PyatovOleksandr KucherTaras Stepanenko andVyacheslav Shevchuk. As shakhtar.com reported, Vyacheslav led the team onto the pitch having the captain's armband on.

Ukraine national team got off to a brisk start, still being the first to concede a goal: on 24 minutes, Gabriel Torje opened the scoring being assisted by Bogdan Stancu. Before the end of the first half, Shevchuk produced a few dangerous shots. On 44 minutes, one of them resulted in a goal: Roman Zozulya took advantage of the captain’s pass and fired it home from close range to make it 1-1.

After the break, two more Pitmen appeared on the pitch: Oleksandr Kucher and Yevhen Seleznyov. Early in the second half, Ukraine went in front: Zinchenko won the ball and sent it into the far corner. A few minutes later, the Yellow-Blues secured their success through Konoplyanka’s shot from the edge of the box. Being in the zone, the Ukrainians quickly made the score big: Yarmolenko received a pass from Konoplyanka, beat an opponent and hit the target – 1-4.

Andriy Pyatov also had work to do. Midway through the second half, the Shakhtar keeper parried away the dangerous shot by Ovidiu Hoban. Subsequently, the Romanians reduced the gap with Dennis Alibek converting a free-kick and Constantin Stanciu having his ball hitting the back of the net just off the post.

As a result, the entertaining and prolific match ended in a narrow win for the Ukrainian team. The charges of Mykhailo Fomenko will have their next friendly game on June 3 against Albania.
