Before the match
As many as three Pitmen missed the encounter with Dnipro due to suspensions. Those are Maksym Malyshev, Bernard and captain Darijo Srna. The Donetsk team’s top scorer Facundo Ferreyra did not play in Dnipro due to his back injury.

First half
Just from the off, it was clear that Shakhtar would have to rip open the opponents’ tight defence. Dnipro defended deploying most of the team. Given the number of Dnipro players in front of Andrii Lunin’s goal, the Orange-and-Blacks took long-range shots. Fred, Stepanenko and Rakitskyy tested their accuracy ability. The final whistle registered the Orange-and-Blacks’ confident win through a brace by Viktor Kovalenko.
Shakhtar will play their next game on November 30 in the Ukrainian Cup. In the Last 8, the Pitmen are to play Poltava away. The meeting kicks off at 13:00 EET.
