The head coach of Shakhtar U21 reflects on the game vs Olimpik

- Today was a day when each player of our team – which is crucial! – was concentrated on the football field. Everyone tried to show their best qualities. Playing just collectively. We constantly focus their attention on that, because this is one of the important components of success. In the first half, we scored two goals following the set pieces. Hlushchuk was the first to put his name on the scoresheet after bursting into the penalty area. Adamenko’s finishing was successful. The third goal was scored owing to Arabidze’s individual brilliance. After the break, the opponents started playing more boldly. At 0-3, they had nothing to lose, so they tried to equalize and raise the pace. But we had enough chances to excel – perhaps even more than in the first half.

- Did the two-week international break affect your performance?
- Of course it did. Each national team showcase their own game, with the guys coming back in different form: someone had some match practice, someone else didn’t.. And we had just two days to make everyone equally prepared. It’s great that everything went so well today. After this victory, we have advanced to the top spot – the place where Shakhtar should always belong.
