The Donetsk team players reflect on the game vs Volyn

Maksym Malyshev, Shakhtar midfielder:

- I would not say that those three points were so easy to claim. Each game is tough in its own way. The coach prepared us for a difficult game, so we seriously prepared for the match against Volyn. I think we did well in many ways and showcased some great football. We netted three goals, still having more good scoring opportunities. On the whole, we’re happy with the game. Although, we clearly lacked finishing in this match. In the first half, we wanted to open the scoring asap, but managed to score just once in the end of it. After the break, we did well enough, and netted two more goals. But we shouldn’t stop there, we need to further improve our performance. The episode involving the boy? The ball accidentally hit him when I was shooting on target. After the meeting, I came up to him and handed him my shirt. Hopefully, he does not hold a grudge against me.
First of all, we had to focus on our defensive performance, just extinguishing the opponents’ attacking moves. We watched Volyn’s game against Dynamo and noticed that Lutsk should not be allowed to accelerate
Ivan Ordets, Shakhtar defender:

- Today we had no right to think about Braga facing us. First of all, we had to focus on our defensive performance, just extinguishing the opponents’ attacking moves. We watched Volyn’s game against Dynamo and noticed that Lutsk should not be allowed to accelerate. I think we did it today. We are really pleased that the Academy graduates have scored goals. But the whole team did it, not just individual players. So, we don’t train for nothing and practise set pieces. Our congratulations to Andrii Boriachuk on his debut - he well entered the game and scored a stunning goal. As for my goal, I dedicate it to my girlfriend.
I am grateful to the coach for the confidence that he allowed me to play for some 15-20 minutes. The goal turned out really beautiful, spectacular. Thanks to Bernard!
Andrii Boriachuk, Shakhtar forward:

- I really wanted to be fielded, so tried to show my best side. I am grateful to the coach for the confidence that he allowed me to play for some 15-20 minutes. The goal turned out really beautiful, spectacular. Thanks to Bernard! His assist was so good that it was hard to spoil it. I acted instinctively, though felt the location of the goalkeeper and the goal. I could score a second and third one. But something went wrong. That’s OK, there is a reason for me to give my all in training. Hopefully, in the future I will get more playing time and make everyone happy with my goals. The coach told me to be active in front, ask for passes and perform the striker’s immediate duties. It seems that I succeeded. Before the match, by the way, I was approached by Vasyl Kobin and he said that I would take the pitch and score one today. He told me to join him to celebrate the goal. That's exactly what I did.
