U21. Olimpik vs Shakhtar: match preview

In the 25th round of the Ukrainian U21 League, the Pitmen will play Olimpik away. We bring you the meeting preview
Before the match
The opponents’ previous meeting, which took place just a month ago, ended in Shakhtar's narrow win and gave start to the Orange-and-Blacks’ successful run. Following the Olympians, the boys of Valeriy Kryventsov defeated Zorya (3-0), also beating Chornomorets in the previous round (4-0). The Pitmen confidently led the game against the inhabitants of Odessa from the first to the last minute, with all the goals being scored in the second half, which also indicates the good physical form of the team. Taras Kacharaba, Yurii Hluschuk, Danylo Ihnatenko and Andrii Boriachuk.
By the way, Boriachuk has played for 90 minutes for the first time this year and left the field without scoring a goal. The top scorer of the previous U21 championship has been demonstrating high efficiency in the current season – 8 goals in 7 matches. Valeriy Kryventsov noted the undoubted benefit of involving the first team players in the meetings of reserve teams, where they can maintain their form, without dropping out of the playing cycle and helping the youngsters to progress.
After 24 rounds, Shakhtar have scored 55 points (goal difference of 56-11), going second in the league table. They are still five points adrift of the leaders. Over the past week, there were no personnel changes in the Orange-and-Blacks’ camp, with them preparing for the match vs Olimpik with their usual squad.

Olimpik sit in the fourth spot in the table, competing for getting into the top three. In 24 rounds the Donetsk team scored 41 points (goal difference is 39-33), going five points behind Karpaty. In six spring games, the team of Ihor Klimovskyi defeated Vorskla (2-0) and Chornomorets (2-1), drawing with Stal (1-1), suffering a defeat at the hands of Shakhtar (0-1) and losing twice to Dynamo (0-3 and 0-5). It is worth noting that the opponents held the last three league games away.
Stanislav Belenkyi has been the Olympians’ top scorer this season with 12 goals in the U21 league.
Within the U21 championship Shakhtar and Olimpik held 6 matches, 5 of which were won by the Pitmen, and drawing once. The goal difference is 12-2.
This season both meetings have been victorious for the Orange-and-Blacks: 3-0 in Bila Tserkva in October thanks to the goals by Hluschuk, Adamenko and Arabidze and 1-0 in Schaslyve in March after the precision shot by Ihnatenko.
This season, Shakhtar has suffered no away defeats (8 wins and 4 draws), with Olimpik continuing their unbeaten home run (4 wins and 2 draws). For the last time the White-and-Blues suffered a home defeat at the hands of the Pitmen on October 14, 2016.
