The Pitmen shared their opinions after the Donetsk derby

Oleh Kudryk, Shakhtar goalkeeper:

- It was a good game: we attacked, the opponents responded, they didn’t just drop deep. Besides, Olimpik had five first-team players, which once again shows how seriously approached the match. The first half turned out to be difficult: due to the synthetic pitch factor, which we had to get used to, plus the wind interfered a bit. The whole meeting was taking place in midfield – we fought, we challenged them, but failed to score. After the break, we played more actively. We understood that it was necessary to score and win, plus the coaching staff instructed us to attack more. In the penalty episode I operated randomly: just jumped towards the corner and was lucky to palm off the shot. Towards the end of the match, we were a bit concerned with not managing to score, but still believed in ourselves. We netted the first goal, then the second and third. This victory is important both standing wise and psychologically. It adds confidence and improves our mood, which can play a big role in our next match against Dynamo.
I'm glad that I managed to help the team. Every victory is very important for us. We can’t afford to lose points, so today we were fighting to the end, we believed in success and achieved the result
Denys Arenduruk, Shakhtar U21 midfielder:

- Today, when I came off the bench, I had a huge desire to excel. I haven’t scored for a long while, although every game offers numerous chances, and finally I’ve managed to do it. Given that there was not so much time left until the end of the match, the coach asked us to bring more danger and look for opportunities to attack and score a goal. I'm glad that I managed to help the team. Every victory is very important for us. We can’t afford to lose points, so today we were fighting to the end, we believed in success and achieved the result.
